Dual boot system
I have windows 7 and linux ubuntu 11.04lts installed on this computer right now as a dual boot system. If I uninstall windows 7 will my computer run faster and better? I am a new linux user and I really like it. It is very easy to setup and use.
Thanks, tennisbum |
It will make absolutely no difference. If you boot into Windows, you are only running Windows programs and nothing of data stored on linux-accessible partitions is accessed unless you chose to do so. Accessing data does not slow down the other operating system's functions, so there will be no differnece.
Vice versa is also true if you boot into a linux distribution instead of Windows. If your machine is slow in either operating system, check your configurations and also check for malware, etc. Also check if your hardware needs upgrading. |
dual boot system?
Thanks for the information.

So the answer to your question is: Your computer will have the same speed and one less operating system.
If you want better perfomance in both you can use light weith applications and turn off some of the graphical stuff on the desktop Good luck to you! |
