Dual Boot Setup Problem

i just finished setting up a dual boot system with windows 7 and slackware 11.0, unfortunately it doesn't work and i'm no sure what's wrong. here's what i set up:
windows 7 on /dev/hda1, bootable primary partition
linux swap on /dev/hda5, logical partition
linux on /dev/hda6, bootable logical partition
and shared fat32 partition for storage on /dev/hda7

i restarted after i was finished installing slackware but instead of lilo i was met with windows options to either repair or load normally. anyone know what i did wrong? as far as i could tell the install went normally, i've installed slack on 2 other computers successfully, this is the first time i've tried to dual boot it with windows. thank you for any help/advice. hopefully i can learn from this blunder.

install windows first i take it? sounds like MS has done more to fight Linux by making it so their MBR does not play nice with lilo or grub. welcome to the constant fight against Linux from MS world.

I haven't installed Slackware lately but, in most Linux distributions, you get an option to install bootloader (Lilo or Grub) to the master boot record or root partition. Looks like you installed to root partition. You will either need to install Lilo to mbr or make an entry in the windows 7 bootloader for Slackware. To do the latter, download and use EasyBCD from neosmart technologies. It works for vista and I expect it will work for w-7.

You may glean something from HERE
Look at the part E5 of post #3 this will give you a workaround.

thank you

lleb i think you're exactly right. i got lazy, wasn't paying attention and that's probably what i did.
yancek, EasyBCD worked perfectly. it probably took me all of 2 min to download install and set up lilo as a boot option in MBR. thank you.

mrangerman, thanks for the link. there's some interesting stuff in there. i expect i'll be reffering to it in the near future.
