Dual boot, Linux partition formatted but not booting into Windows.


Hello Friends,
I have Vista Home edtion and Linux, I have formatted Linux partions and now that Grub is not letting me boot into Windows, Please help.
I had C:wIndows D:New Volume and rest of the space was E:

now it just says Grub Loading final stage
ERROR 17
-
and then stays there forever.

Hello,

You said you have linux... What distribution of linux? What version of grub are you using? How exactly are you trying to boot into windows?

I had Ubuntu and it says GRUB 1.5 and currently i think i might have to clean a fresh copy of windows vista as it is not accepting the fixmbr and fixboot commands, can you help me a bit here, where do i type the fixmbr and fixboot commands.

Vista doesn't use the fixmbr and fixboot commands anymore, you have to use

bootrec.exe /fixmbr

Hi TobySGD, thanks so much for ur help, u saved from reinstalling, loading all the drivers and all the needed software. thanks again.
