Dual boot laptop question (intel RAID)

Trying to make a Dell precision m6400 (with windows xp 64 pre-installed) a dual boot machine with linux as alternative boot OS. Tried installing Ubuntu next to Windows - seemed to work but when I boot up the machine does not see the linux installation.
I think it is something to do with the Intel RAID storage manager.
Any ideas?

I presume that you are actually using your Intel RAID storage manager to provide RAID. You'll need to provide some details about your RAID setup under Windows, what you did exactly when you installed Ubuntu (and whether you used the "alternate installation CD" see this https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation), and the output of "sudo fdisk -l" from Ubuntu (booting from the live CD).

Thanks for response. In the end I just "switched off" the Intel storage manager and it seemed to work.
