Is that in the install it hangs when putting on your root password for the first time - or - once youve re-booted it hangs when you come to login for the first time?

strange...has it ever worked before? did you md5sum the isos you've downloaded and was the burn successful?

did you install your system with all pheripherals connected to it? maybe you should try it without printer, diggy camera, webcam, scanner, etc...to see whether that works...

hope this helps!

glad it was the disc(s)

well, you should start a new thread for the other things, however, before you do that you should check out the SEARCH feature on these forums - I'm sure people already had started threads about those issues and you might find your answers there!

hope this helps!

oh and btw, google helps too!
