Dual boot (Debian, Windows)
 

I just put Debian Woody (Gnome 1.4) on a secondary computer and I really enjoy it. The only problem is the computer is... ah... below average. I want to use it more, but the slowness of it is killing me. On this computer I have room for another hard drive, and I thought, "Why not put Debian on this and have a dual boot, so I can see which OS I like more?" I've never tried this, or even know how to begin, so I was wondering if any of you Linux Zealots could help me out. I have the disk to install Debian, and all that, I just need to know what to do, or if it would even be possible to have two hard drives, each with a separate OS, to run on the same mother board. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

if you have windows already installed its easy, just install the linux distro and youll be all set... but if your trying to install linux and then install windows... thats where things get a bit tricky

I had windows from start and used the Debian 3.1 network boot. It is an easy process where you just follow the process :)

Yes, that is a brilliant way to go about it. the net-installer is here.
Also, I commend you for using Debian and not it's more flashy little brother Ubuntu. Debian is the real thing.

Install Windows first_ then debian. Debian is a better installer as it will set up for you a proper MBR.
