dual boot

yes, i'm a newb. i decided to try out suse. i purchased another hard drive to try it out instead of fooling around with boot issues. well, i couldn't install w/ my scsi dvd or cd burner so i took my hard drive to my parents and installed it on their system. i have winxp running on my system and would like to install my hard drive with suse pro. what do i need to do for it to detect the new hardware (including my scsi drives) and how do i set up the dual boot of two different drives (lilo or an alternate?)? thanks for your help.

Welcome to LQ.

If you set teh Bios to boot from your linux hdd then it should give you a bootloader menu. This should let you boot linux - once you have booted you can add an entry to the botload that will let you boot windows. There are lots of examples for dual boot setups on this site - just use the search. Just post if you run into problems.
