dual boot
Lost a small program I had for dual boot choosing. It was a small app that gave me to choice of what to boot first or gave me 2 choices at start up....help
|
The menu you see to choose an operating system is part of the Grub2 bootloader on Ubuntu.
What happened? Lost doesn't tell us much. You can reinstall Grub from the Ubuntu CD by following the instructions in Section 12 on the site below: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2 |
Which bootloader?
Which bootloader are you using? Most GNU/Linux distributions come with GRUB, for example, which can be installed and give you a menu to choose between operating systems at boot time.
grub-install, with the appropriate options, will often handle this for you. |
What did you do ?
Please post some clue. Cheers. |
Sorry;
everything is working fine...just when I start there are several different starts options and win is at the bottom. I had a small program I got off the linux community that when I start it gave 2 choices, win or ubuntu. It also had a place to choose which os I wanted to default boot. |

And where did you get this "program" and how was it called? |
The problem is fixed...I guess, really it was never a problem...just looking for the little program I used to have.
Thanks all. |
Still, what is that "little program"?!?
And mark the thread as solved. |
The program your looking for is called GRUB.
Why you lost it, nobody knows didn't you didn't tell us. How to get it back, install it via the package manager and use the grub-install command or tell us why you lost it. |
