DSL-N Boot Help PLEASE

After spending a week trying to get Dyne:Bolic to boot up on my drive, i gave up. nothing seems to work.

Now I am trying to get DSL-N too boot on my drive.

The two options for install are"Frugal Grub Install" and "Frugal Lilo Install"

Both of them install fine, but when i try and boot up, I get the error "Not any [active partitions] on hdd" at the POST screne

I have used fdisk to make my drive several different partitions, and none of them have worked. The only way DSL will go through the installation is if you make the partition as Linux(83), but I till get that error when I try and boot. I have tried doing this on 2 different drives, I get the same thing on both of them.

The machine I am trying to do this on is an older machine. It has a 1GB HD and a 650MB HD. P2 266MHz, 128RAM. I dont htink its a hardware problem, cause the live CD seems to work fine. I think its juts something about the partition being bootable or not, and Lilo or Grub dont seem to tag that for me....and I cant figure it out.

Please help me

Just use the LiveCD, in terminal mode use "cfdisk" program, select the partition, click "bootable" and click "write" before exiting the program.

"fdisk -l" will list all the disks and partitions showing which one is bootable too.
