could anyone please point me to the drivers for this machine and video card in particular please?

I am fairly new to linux, not a total stranger but as everything changes with each distro I am a bit lost.

I need to find the driver for the Nvidia Geforce GTX 7900 Go w/512 mb in an XPS M1710
I also would really appreciate a step by step on installing it properly
right now the default Fc6 video driver works ok until I ask it to do something with open GL

I am also looking for a way to play my MP3 music files
I am not super familiar with installing from source code etc so any step by steps or pointers to detailed instructions would be hugely appreciated

This whould help you get MP3 playback happening, at least.
As for the NVIDIA drivers, I remember seeing a site address around one of these threads somewhere, but cannot remember where. It was one of those sites that showed you how to do (almost) everything......sorry.......

Actually, no, sorry, scratch that, I may have found something.

Its a guide for FC5, but should not be (hopefully) that much different to FC6.
