Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

alright,..i've been using linux for about 3 months now, and i am having problems with my graphic card. it's an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX and i have a friend that told me i needed to install the drivers for it...my problem is i don't know how to install a driver for it and their website isn't much help on it at all. so could someone point me in the direction of the right drivers and how to install them? any help would be appreciated. thank you.
please search this site for information about NVIDIA drivers. i personally found the docs perfectly adequate, but recently someone did post a guide to installing them super simple stylee
the only thing i found that was for a simple installation was for rpm files. when i went to download the files i didn't find any rpm files, i only found tar.gz files. i can't exactly install an rpm if there aren't any to install. so please, could you, or someone else explain this,..i haven't been running linux long and i don't know how to do much.
