Driver for NVIDIA GEFORCE2 MX/MX 400

Can somebody please advise which driver to download for the above 3D Card.

I am using SuSE 9.0, when installing it advises to down load both NVIDIA_GLX and NVIDIA_Kernal, but I am not sure which one to use.

Great Site!

both are needed. The kernel part is for the kernel module (think device driver), the GLX is the command stuff (think directx). That's pretty much incorrect, but close enough. You should probably download the .run file and let it do it's thing. That tends to work the easiest. Don't forget to edit your /etc/X11/XFConfig-4 file.

You can also compile it, but that tends to get mixed results unless you've done that a few times. Instructions are in the README file.

Trust me, go with the .run file...:)

Go to the NVidia site:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux.html

and download the latest driver for IA32, it has the form of a shell script (which you must run as root), it will perform (nearby) all the necessary installation steps. Read also the docs carefully, because you have to modify (manually) the XFree86 config file.

All the steps are described in that NVidia web.
