Drive names not keeping...

Hi all

Sorry for my barrage of questions

I have a few partitions on my drives, and they are working fine but I renamed them to something more friendly, like System, Data, etc. When I log off and log back on, they are back to hda1, hda2, etc. Anyway to make them keep?

Also, I have created a shortcut on my desktop to my MP3 folder for ease of access. They are stored on another partiton. 2 issues:

1. The icon is now constantly a padlock, any way to change it?
2. I cant use the shortcut as soon as I log on until I open the drive they are on, and a little green arrow appears on the corner of the icon. I suspect this is something to do with mounting? How can I sort this out?
