downloading fedora 14 to an external HD
 
I am so new I have yet to try to download Fedora 14 to my External HD. I know absolutely nothing about Linux I have read articles and am open to any suggestions

Hello.

I think I'd delete that file and tell us more about the computer you wish to try this on.

Why would you be trying to download a version of Fedora that three versions out of date? Current version is 17 with 18 coming soon. You need to burn the .iso to make a live DVD so you can try it out.

download the current fedora 17
then READ the install instructions
there is a link on the same page

but fedora is not a good choice for a "new to linux" user

it is SO NEW that a lot of programs will not YET work on it .

Fedora is the "newest of the NEW"
and as such their can be problems


You might want to look at using LinuxMint

or
if you are up to a VERY big challenge -- fedora 17
