downloaded the .iso's now what?

ok I am an extreme newbie here... I downloaded the new redhat 9 install files. and burned them to 3 cd's.. everything ok so far.

then i get home and put #1 in the drive and hope it will boot from that cd... bios is set to boot from cd first.. but it does not.

when i installed Redhat 7.1 i just put the cd in the drive and it booted right into the installation.

Why isn't this true for version 9?

Is there a special way to burn the iso files so it unpacks them or something like that?

That is strange. Assuming everything burned correctly it should boot assuming you have told your BIOS through whichever way it needs to be told to boot from the CDROM first. I've installed RH9 and it seemed to boot from the CD fine. What kind of burning program did you use to burn the ISOs? What do the files look like when you explore the CD?

If you did that right, there's also instructions on creating a special boot CD from existing data on your RH9 discs.

ok, make sure u did not just throw the iso's onto the cd's, use something like nero to burn the files directly (use the option to burn an image file)

other than that, make sure again that your bios is set to boot from the cd drive you are using to boot the cd and make sure u save the changes u made to your bios
