Download manager window absent in SeaMonkey 1.1.2.
Kernel 2.6.21.5, slackware 12.0
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070601 SeaMonkey/1.1.2 Xfce 4.4.1 Hi: I have lost, after the crash of the GUI, the download manager. I.e., it still works, as I can see by making succesive ls' and seeing the file size incrememting (the file has extension .part). But the window is nowhere to be seen. Then I made Edit>Preferences>Navigator>Download, and set all things properly, among them, that the Dwonload manager show the download progress. But no use. What can I do to get it back? |
Try deleting the seamonkey folder from your home. It should be $HOME/.mozilla/seamonkey and contains all of your user specific settings for seamonkey. Deleting this folder should reset it to its default state. Be advised this may delete your bookmarks and stuff. If you want to avoid that, try just cutting and pasting the folder to your desktop instead to see if it fixes the issue.

I suppose in order to delete $HOME/.mozilla/seamonkey I have to exit the GUI. But it happens I'm this moment downloading a Slack distro, not via torrent. Could I suspend the download and continue with it next time I enter the GUI?

In Gnome when you're looking at your Home folder, just click "View" then click "Hidden Folders". Doh: Forgot to close Google Chrome after changing my UserAgent to say I was running Windows temporarily, oh well. |
Thanks very much.

I was a bit optimistic.
Code:
semoi@darkstar:~$ find . -iname "*seamonkey*" |

And your Seamonkey doesn't have an option like this to open the download manager?
Note: Ignore the "IceApe" branding, Debian has to rename Mozilla products because of licensing issues after they apply their Debian specific security patches. |
Well, in the menu bar I have Tools>Download. Clicking Download however does nothing (nothing that I see).
Iceape: do you think deleting the .mozilla dir won't do any harm? Else than not being able to restart xfce4 I do not care. |
