down load speed slow from PPA
Down load speed from PPA's run at 4 to 8Kbs. Wine took 25 minutes. Pinging using two different systems from the internet show down load speeds of 1.51 and 1.47Mbs. These were run at the same time that Wine was down loading.
The fastest down load speed has been 188.6Kbs observed from other PPA's.
System monitor-indicate is not indicating any swap usage. This is the were I got the PPA down load speeds from.
This looks to be an internal computer problem.
Need help as to where to look or check?
thanks Cliff

Could be a slow PPA server, or a slow connection from the PPA location to your location, and nothing to do your your connection or software.
It might help to list your location and the PPAs that run fast and slow.

Just the way it is.
If your test to some speedtest site is correct then all is OK.

Location is Denver Co
The down load speeds seem to be for everything from PPA's.
This Sunday morning update for 12.04 Beta were much slower 1.3 to 2.4 Kbs.

I am sorry for trying to understand how this system works and will leave such touchy subjects only to those who already know the answers
Thanks Cliff

Umm....its not a 'touchy subject'.
When you posted, ubuntu 12.04 was beta, and IMO beta releases are not for people who are trying to learn the basics.
BTW, different download speeds from PPAs is common.
