Dovecot mailbox format?

Im trying to create a new user to accept mail via dovecot. The odd thing is that I was used having a program like makemailbox++ (or something) to create the mailbox directories. Unfortunately I dont know what I did to get the first one setup but the subdirs in Mailbox are different than what Im used to (ie cur new tmp). it dont bother me that they are different since its working, I just want to know how to do it again so I can set other users up.

Do you mean Maildir format?

I think it's

Maildir
----cur
----new
----tmp
----.sub_folders_like_this
-------cur
-------new
-------tmp

ignore the -'s, it won't let me indent with spaces
etc.

there is a command that's something like maildirmake. I have the basics set up in my skel, so I don't use it

In case anyone else has the same problem
use this script.

#!/bin/sh
#
#maildirmake.dovecot -- create maildirs
# Copyright (c) 2003, Jaldhar H. Vyas
# "Do what thou wilt" shall be the whole of the license.
#
dir=$1
if [ -z "$dir" ]; then
echo "Must supply a directory path"
exit 1
fi

if [ "$dir" = "-h" ]; then
echo "usage: $0 directory"
exit 0
fi

umask 077
mkdir -p $dir/{cur,new,tmp} || echo "$!" && exit 1
chmod u+rwxg-a- $dir $dir/{cur,new,tmp} || echo "$!" && exit 1

exit 0
