Doubt about command restore

The other day I used the restore -i -f /dev/st0 but there wasn't any disk in the device so Unix continued "thinking" until I push Ctrl+C. Then it asked me if I wanted ended the restore process, I said "yes" and it return to the prompt.

It seems that nothing happened. My question is if I make the right thing, or I had to do other thing to go out of it.

On the other hand I am worried that the command could change anything. Everything seems be working ok, and I think that this command couldn't change anything but I am not sure.

Thanks for your help.

The man page for restore says that the "exit" command will stop the restore from interactive (-i) mode. If the command is hung waiting for the device then Ctrl+C should be an ok way out too. Nothing should be changed if there was no dump device.

Thanks for the fast answer, Icole.

I think that nothing happened either, but I hope that anyone could confirm it without any debt.

For the record, I want to add that I didn't enter into the restore interactive mode prompt (restore >).
