Don't know how to exit "unicode mode".

Hello,
I am relatively new to the linux o/s.I installed suse 9.3 on a small hard drive. After a while I got a larger drive and was attempting to transfer everything on the smaller drive to the larger one and ran into some difficulties. Something did not work right and I read somewhere to put cd1 and reboot to rescue mode.I disconnected the larger drive and tryedto get the first drive to work properly before going further along. Now I get these messages along with several others but I feel these are probably most helpful in the diagnosis. Now when I start the system I see the normal startup screen, then part on it turns to the monochrome color and displays a bunch of text like when you hit the esc button in the beginning to see more information. Some of the lines are.
usbcore registered new driver
via_ircc:unsupported module,tainting kernel
start unicode mode
fsck failed for at least one filesystem (not /)
Please repair manually and reboot
The root filesystem is already mounted read-write
Attention:Only Control-D will reboot the system in this maintenance mode.
Shutdown or reboot will not work
If anyone could help I would be most appreciative. Thanks and have a nice day.

umm.. did you back up your data? (ie documents...) if you did i would reccomend a complete reinstall.

perhaps try the rescue mode with the second drive plugged in aswell.. as the information it needs might be on the other drive.

was the bigger drive partitioned?

Everythings okay.

Thanks for your help but i solved the problem.I was looking at a book that showed all the commands.I just typed "su" then "startx".I booted into the GUI took what I needed off of the hard drive via k3b and reformated it.I then installed the OS on the other hard drive and all the files i needed. Thanks again.
