does WHOIS and TCPDUMP work with cygwin ?
i have already installed the cygwin on my windows-based system and it appears to function properly i mean i have tried to execute a bunch of linux command lines and that worked out but am not being able to run the command of Tcpdump and Whois !
Anyways thanx,

Whois is available from Cygwin, and for the equivalent of TCPDump, get Winpcap and Windump from here:

am sorry to say that, but it keeps saying that 'WHOIS' command is not recognized as an internal or external command.
so is there anyway to install it or find out why it isn't working?
Anyways Thank you so much..

He didn't say it was installed by default ... he said it's available.
Fire up your cygwin set-up and select it from there.

Also note that WHOIS is indeed not a Linux/Unix/Cygwin command.
It's whois ... all lower case.
