KDE is the default desktop in Suse and has been for ages. I quite like the way they configure their KDE desktop, it looks clean and professional.

Does Suse have KDE / SuSe info
to to http://www.novell.com/linux
and / or http://www.novell.com/products
the now proud owners of Suse.
there are several versions.
Suse comes with both KDE and GNOME
Novell also purchased ximian which means they own GNOME and Suse linux desktop.
They recently released the first verson of Novell Linux Desktop.

They only own their version of GNOME, GNOME itself isn't owned by anyone and various distros such as REdhat/Fedora, Mandrake, Novell/Ximian contribute but the majority of contributors are just ordinary people.

Ximian is a different desktop based on GNOME, Miguel de Icaza, one of the co founders of th GNOME Foundation is now vice president of developer platform at novell.
Ximian was the name of the company that Icaza co-founded and Novell bought.
You are correct that owning GNOME is not the correct terms.
GNOME is handled by the GNOME Foundation. Novell owns Zimian, the desktop and the company including other products that Ximian owned.
Exciting times for Novell.

I am as excited as you are about the upcoming Novell/Suse releases, I'd like to see what their versions of GNOME will be like. I used Helix (Ximian) GNOME for a long time as my default desktop and loved their 1.4 release, but truly speaking I am a KDE fan through and through, but I like the simpicity of GNOME when working in a corporate environment. Can't wait for the next Suse release.
