Does RTLinux support ARM processor - ARMV4I
Dear,
Does RTLinux support ARM processor - ARMV4I ? Which version of RTLinux support - ARMV4I ? Kindly reply. |
ARMV4I isn't a processor, so it can't be a supported processor. And if you are looking for the support kind of support, then the question is whether the supplier, to whom you pay money, provides support. They should be able to answer the question about which processors they support.
If you buy a board with a BSP, then you should ask the question of your board supplier; you can try that even if you are not buying a BSP. I'm sorry I can't provide you with a better answer based on this information, but you didn't get an answer here http://www.programmersheaven.com/mb/...ssor---armv4i/ either, so you may wish to ask a reformulated question. |
Thanks a lot for the reply.
As per my informations, RTLinux comes with support to ARM architecture from version 9, ARM9 and above. It requires new design to support ARMV4. Still I look for some option in Embedded Linux. Can anyone please help me - Which base version of ARM is supported by Embedded Linux ? I mean the support for that ARM version exist currently and it will not require totally new design for the port ? Is it possible with ARM version 4 ? Your help is greatly appreciated. Regds. |
Early(~2000) the name RTLinux was only talking about the Victor Yodikon's Real Time Linux. ie, converting normal Linux OS kernel into real time. Then later it was split into two, RTLinux/GPL - open source version of RTLInux and RTlinuxPro, commercial version of rtlinux with more features from FSMLabs. But after that lots of real time linux projects started and the name "RTLinux" is generic now. Few rtlinux names are,
RTLinux/GPL - From FSMLabs RTLinuxPro - From FSMLabs (Windriver acquired FSMLabs. The flash news is Intel acquired Windriver, recently) RTAI - Very similar kind of rtlinux Paritkle Xenomai RT_PREEMPT KURT ....,etc. mention, which rtlinux you are trying to use. Later you can easily findout whether your rtlinux will support ARMV4I or not. |
