Does not boot off CDROM drive

I installed Linux many times but my old (7 year old) machine will not boot off the CDROM drive this time.

I went into setting and specified the boot order to be CDROM drive first and it still skipped it. It's like it doesn't find it anymore. Just goes straight to the hard drive where I have Fedora installed.

In the past I had problems where it would have problems reading the CDs in the middle of the install, is this the same problem?

I am installing AS3.

Does the drive show up during the POST?

Also, would it be possible to try with a different drive to confirm whether that's the problem?
