Does Fedora 10 supports Intel Xeon Processor & Intel S3000AH Motherboard ???

I'm having Multi-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 3000 series with 2.4 Ghz supported by the Intel® Server Board S3000AH. I'm planning to build a linux server based on the above mentioned architecture. But i'm not so sure about it. Can any one help me with this ????

Yeah, it'll run fine. Note that 1) Fedora 11 is out in 7 days time, and 2) Fedora should never be used on a proper server, only testing / development.

I'm gonna try it as a UAT Server. Is it advisable that way ???

just REMEMBER that in 13 months fedora 11 will be End Of Life and unsupported - that is, there will BE NO SECURITY updates in 13 months . you will have to install fedora 13 when it is out in 13 to 14 months .

UAT should always mirror the live environment... The user is supposed to accept a solution which is then implemented in a significantly different environment?

Thanks but hey i didn't get you correct. Let me make myself clear. So you're trying to tell me to switch to the other distro which gives consistent support or what ?? Here's what i'm planning to do. I'm gonna setup a UAT (linux) server locally for a remote server. For this setup what's the best linux distro i can go for????

Well that's the point of UAT, to create a replication of a production environment to ensure that the code being potentially accepted by the user will perform in exactly the same way in production as they experienced it before hand.

Thanks Chris. I think u might have read my previous conversations with others. My requirement is to build a UAT server. Can you suggest me the Linux distro perfect for this or shall i proceed further with FC10. I need your advice regarding this. If possible can you give me any link for whitepapers, documents which you think that might be helpful for me to build the UAT.

i would use RHEL 5.3 or Cent 5.3 or the current suze or debain extended life
fedora "can" be used but you will need to do a clean install every year
RHEL and CentOS have 5 year life spans
