Does Dell core i3 processor supports Linux ?


Dear All,

I am planning to by Dell Laptop having core i3 processor. Does Linux supports this processor ?

Yes of course, it's a bog standard x86-64 processor, so why wouldn't it be supported? Whether or not all of the laptop's peripherals (e.g. the wireless adapter) will be supported is another story. You should check around on the net for people who have tried Linux on the model you plan to order and see if they had any issues.

Might also see if dell offers that laptop family on it's site with linux already.

I would guess that at least most of it would work if not all of it but as above you had better check sites for reports of other users.

Good thing is it can run a VM just fine so you can run both MS and Linux at the same time.
