My friend's mother is on hospice care and she wants the Bad Dog screensaver. We want her to enjoy her computer and are willing to do the work to make it comfortable and familiar for her.

My friend can't find a Linux port of the Bad Dog screensaver for his mother. I don't code, but how hard can making a screensaver be?

You're probably not going to be able to write a screensaver. You'll have to find a different screen saver she likes.

Have you tried running the software under WINE? Another option is to take screenshots of the screensaver under Windows or OS X and use the screenshots with xscreensaver or another screensaver app that workes natively under Linux.

No, because I would not have any other reason to install WINE and because I didn't want to ask a new friend a dumb question. That would seem to be the simplest and most obvious solution. I'll double check instead of just assuming there was something wrong with my reasoning.
