Does anyone know how to run a video game server?

Hello, I am new here to Linux Questions. I want to host a dedicated server on Call of Duty 4 or AlterIWNet (Modern Warfare 2 Altered) for my clan (Torched Gaming). Know, I have a computer with Ubuntu and my Internet speed is, 30Mbps Download and the most important, 5Mpbs Upload speed. Know i have all the internet to run it thats not my problem. But i see all of these Game Server providers that run all there servers on Linux. How can i host a server? I want like a tut or some type of thing to tell me how. Trust me im a computer expert so it should be easy as long as you explain.

Thank you for your response!

You just install the dedicated server software for that particular game like you would any other program. Usually the game disc will contain the Linux server software (if one is available), or if not there, on the support page for that game.

It is really no different than running any other type of server from your own machine.
