Angry Does anyone here use ksmoothdock?

All,

I'm fairly new to linux and this is the first time I've tried to compile a program like ksmoothdock. I'm currently running Mandrake 10.0 Community with KDE 3.2. I follow these steps exactly -

./configure --prefix=/usr
make
su
make install

...everything seems to go thru just fine but I'm clueless as to where to go from here. The instructions say to run the program afterwards. I feel like I'm missing something simple.

Thanks in advance,

-HB

If these steps didn't output no errors, the package is installed. To know where it is located issue:
whereis ksmoothdock
in the console, and it will show you where the binaries are. To access the man pages do:
man:ksmoothdock
at konqueror.
To run the program, issue
ksmoothdock
at the console. Or ksmoothdock --help
To see the help file.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for your help. I believe I've found my problem. Definitely a newbie mistake. After trying to run the ./configure again I'm seeing this error in the printout.

configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

I'll have to see what compiler programs are available to install on my mandrake system.
