I have seen some people using Linux with a dock panel, such as Mac has. How can I install it and use it?

there is something for gdesklets called starterbar I think that looks very much like the osx dock.

Use can still use KDE apps in Gnome :)

You can, but the gdesklets starterbar is the closest thing to the osx dock i've seen and it's for gnome I'm using yab for adesklets (with the gentoo icons) with xfce on my ibook.

In addition, you can also look gnome-look.org for some matching icon, color scheme and wallpaper. This way you can mac your linux box to look like Mac!
