Do I need to install the nvidia drivers?

When I start 3D games like tux racer (I think that's the name of it) it runs really slow (same for 3D screensavers), I think my computer should be able to run this game well, so I thought maybe that the drivers for my nvidia card don't come with FC2 or something, anyone know what's wrong?

Some info on my computer:
Processor
1,85 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Memory Modules
192 Megabytes Installed Memory
Slot 'A0' is Empty
Slot 'A1' has 256 MB
Slot 'A2' is Empty

Display Adapter
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU

most likely. the selfcompiled drivers seem to give better performance, (on my suse box anyway) http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-5336.html

print the readme so you'll have a step by step handy, while x is shut down.
