Do all Linux distros perform media check before install? Which do and which dont?

The newest Knoppix 3.4 version I believe does an MD5sum check when it boots.

That's a new question to me. I've never really checked that as I always compare the md5sums before burning the images and k3b does it again for me. Hmmmm.
