DNS settings
I have 2 linux systems in my network, one is running as a mono-wall and the other is a toy i am making. mono wall has a dchp server running but currently isnt passing dns settings. i dont wana touch the mono wall right now so how do i manualy set the dns settings on my toy but keep the dhcp for the ip?

dns settings live in /etc/resolv.conf, so you can add them there, but a dhcp client may well override these as a matter of course. there is always a way to avoid these being replaced, but if you aren't passing any dns options back i don't think it'd be an issue.

correction, it isnt passing dns settings correctly.
Its passing the wrong addresses.
will this fix you mentioned work even thought its passing the wrong dns entrys?

as above the dhcp client will probably overwrite each time. to this end you should be able to use an option from the manpage, often "-R" to prevent the overwrite. totally depends on which client you are using though.
