dns server settings pclos2007

Can anyone help me? I installed pclinuxos on my dell b130 laptop and it runs great. I do have one problem though. Really more of an annoyance. For some reason anytime I shut down and reboot which is quite often, it puts my home ip address in the optional DNS server that is located in the Alter Misc. internet settings. This makes firefox really slow because it tries to access my home address for DNS. I can take it out but as soon as I reboot it puts it back in there. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for any help!

Do you get your IP settings via DHCP? Is your DHCP server also sending DNS information along with IP address information? If so and it's sending your home IP (router with an inbuilt caching DNS server maybe?) that could be the problem...

How would I fix it? If I unclick the DHCP option then I cannot connect to the internet.
