Dns Config


hai


I having two machines installed centos5. I need to configure both nodes can resolve correctly names ( either through dns or /etc/hosts).
Please advise me how to do this.

Hi saran_redhat,

This problem can be resolved by adding hostnames of both nodes to /etc/hosts file of both the nodes...

OR

you can configure DNS in one of these nodes, so that any other system in your network can resolve hostname...

If you only have the two hosts and their IPs are static it is easiest to use /etc/hosts.
Just add entries like the following to /etc/hosts on both machines.

Code:
192.168.1.2 host1
192.168.1.3 host2
