DNS and Gateway Setting

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with setting DNS and Default Gateway settings on my Network,
----------------------
ADSL Router (LAN IP: 192.168.1.1)
Dynamic WAN IP and DNS for Internet
DHCP Enable
------------------
Win 2003 Server
IP : 192.168.1.254
Local DNS Install
Intranet (http://MyHome.abc) running on IIS
------------------
PC's on LAN
Get IPs from Router DHCP
With this setup, i cannot view my Intranet on others PC (can view only giving Ip address)

so my requirement is to view my intranet as well as the internet from all PC's without changing settings on individual PC on the network.

Pls help me
Thanks

Basically there are two ways to achieve this.
One is to use "hosts" file on each machine. On each machine write the names and the IPs of all other machines (or just one entry for the server.)

The other one is to run a name server (aka bind server). It does not matter which machine is running the name server, but the router running the DHCP server has to distribute the name server entry to the clients when clients ask for configuration.

If you have DNS locally installed on that 2003 box then I would create a zone for the 192.168.1.x network and get your internal LAN PC's to look at 192.168.1.254 (Win 2003 box) and they should find your IIS server - you may have to add DNS entries on DNS server manually for your Linux machines. Also add a forwarder in your 2003 DNS server to send unresolved DNS requests out to your ISP's DNS servers to resolve Internet IP addresses.

It's been a while since I administered a Windows 2003 server but this should set you up, or thereabouts.
