Dns


after giving nslookup command..
I write set type=any
then write server pc2.com
it shows me...
Default Server: 192.168.0.2
Address:192.168.0.2#53

I write only server..
it shows me
Default Server: 192.168.0.2
Address:192.168.0.2#53
again.

but when i write server home.com
it says could'nt find server home.com

is my DNS alright..?

probably because home.com doesnt have a name server(either not set or noone owns it, not sure)
if you're checking to see if your own caching name server is working, just make sure the ip is in /etc/resolv.conf then try access any website, if it works then you're set.

there is no entry of home.com at my hosts file...
but i have entry of pc2.com at my hosts file..

my resolv.conf file is as follows
domain pc2.com
nameserver 192.168.0.2

pls tell me what si the meaning of the command

set type=any

and my /etc/hosts file is as floows...

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
# 127.0.0.1 pc1.com pc1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.0.1 pc1 pc1.com
192.168.0.2 pc2 pc2.com
192.168.0.2 dns2

is everything alright...?..pls help me...
