after giving nslookup command..
I write set type=any
then write server
it shows me...
Default Server:

I write only server..
it shows me
Default Server:

but when i write server
it says could'nt find server

is my DNS alright..?

probably because doesnt have a name server(either not set or noone owns it, not sure)
if you're checking to see if your own caching name server is working, just make sure the ip is in /etc/resolv.conf then try access any website, if it works then you're set.

there is no entry of at my hosts file...
but i have entry of at my hosts file..

my resolv.conf file is as follows

pls tell me what si the meaning of the command

set type=any

and my /etc/hosts file is as floows...

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
# pc1 localhost.localdomain localhost pc1 pc2 dns2

is everything alright...?..pls help me...
