Unhappy DivX

I just downloaded DivX for Linux. I extract and everything. The nI read the readme for install instructions. It says "extract, and run ./ as root". So I did this but it comes out with an error message saying "unknown host". What the hell does this mean? How do I get it to install? I'm also gonna try and download Limeware. When I tried to download it in Windows, all it downloaded was like the source code I guess. What would I do with that?

before you run the installation program run xhost +localhost from a command line and then try it again, i remember having that problem with Ximian Desktop. Hope this helps.
