Question Distro suggestion required

I have a dell inspiron 15R 5520 64 bit laptop. Specs are as follows-
core i5 processor
500 GB HDD
4 GB RAM
1366X768 display
currently running on windows 7 home basic
I want to give linux a try while still keeping my win 7. Please suggest a distro with a nice GUI, a lot of tools to work with and a firewall because I work online a lot.

=================================
I had tried Ubuntu,Fedora,Lubuntu in past.
Now I am using Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon 64 bits.
I do not use any Firewall.Take backup of your Home Folder on separare external hard disk .(copy the Home folder).Even if there is any problem you can reinstall Linux Mint 16 within 20-30 minutrs.
