distribution of ubuntu *most compatible* with IBM/Lenovo T43?

Hey everybody. So I've decided to put Ubuntu on my Lenovo T43. I've done this before, and it was a series of headaches (to paraphrase a lot). I'm not sure if it was my newness to Linux or the fact that my T43 and Ubuntu didn't play nicely.

I'm going to install Ubuntu on a partition of my hard drive, and so I'm wondering if you could make a recommendation on the most-compatible Ubuntu distribution for my T43 here. You know...so that if problems arise, I won't run myself ragged troubleshooting only to find out that it's an operating system/PC incompatibility problem (...does such a problem exist? :-P).

Thanks. ~BJN

Ubuntu should just work.

Debian does. :) Debian install on IBM/Lenovo T43 - http://gnuru.org/article/1163/debian...ibm-lenovo-t43

A bit old but worth a look> Installing Ubuntu 6.06 on a ThinkPad T43 - ThinkWiki - http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Instal...a_ThinkPad_T43

Hey craigevil, do you mean that Ubuntu 6.06 would be preferable to the latest version on my T43?

No just that the howto is a bit dated. The current ubuntu should work just fine.
