Distorted graphics
I recently installed Suse Linux on a Dell machine and an IBM machine, with no apparent installation problems. They both boot into linux, but the screen only shows a distorted, grayish version of everything. No error messages pop-up, but the KDE banner pop-up, then leaves. All the other programs seem to work fine(as much as I can tell). I am new to Linux, so maybe I skipped some minor detail. Thanks.

this often happens when you have the refresh rate to high. windows tries to detect what it thinks your system can handle and limits you while linux doesnt. It expects you as the user to know what it should be at. it should be around 65 or 70 hz i would think. I have seen some people who have their refresh rate around 100 and have the same problem.
