Display problem in Thinkpad T60

Hi, everyone. This is my first question in this place. Today I installed Slackware 13.0 on my laptop(Thinkpad t60). At first, everything seems OK. But when I switch from X window system back to text console, all the text on the screen becomes dark. I couldn't even see them.

I have ever used Debian in T60, never encountering this problem. Is this because I don't install the hardware drivers?
