display problem after upgrade
I have just upgraded from 7.1 to 9.0

I can login OK but.....

The screen resolution seems to be set at something like 320 240 - everything is HUGE.
I can only see a couple of icons in the bottom left corner and I cannot locate any "Control Panel" like menu or options.

I do not see how to get to the command line.

How can I change the screen resolution ?
Ctrl/Alt/+ or - does not work.

get out of the xserver, edit the XF86Config file, go to screen sections and change the resolution, or try running kxconfig in ur kde or gnome or whatever u have.

Err, thanks but I think you should know I reeeaally am a newbie at this.
Although I had 7.2 I never used it much. I am trying to get back into it.

I do not see (know) how to get to a command line without using the menu options - I cannot use the menu options because I cannot see them :(

I'd be happy to RTFM but I am stuck with nowhere to go.

Thanks again for the speedy reply.

Try Ctrl+Alt+Fn (n being 1-6) to switch to a console. Then log in as root and type xf86config to reconfigure X. After you're finished restart X and see if it worked.

Thanks aaa - I can now switch between GUI and command line

I think I need a command line command to reconfigure my display settings - something like xconfig from RH 7.2
That does not seem to work so what is the alternative ?
If I try and use Xconfigurator it comes up in GUI and I cannot see enough of the screen to work it - is there an alternative ?
