Display Error at bootup: Out of Range

Hi Guys, I made a stupid Mistake. I have been running UBUNTU 8.10 for a short Time successfully and made the Mistake to disable the Proprietary Driver for my Video Card which is a ATI Radeon HD3870, Model
GV-RX387512HP. When I try to boot the Startup Window with the UBUNTU
Logo appears and than the Screen goes black with a Message: Out of Range,
H.Frequency:12.0kHz V.Frequency:11.0Hz
Can anyone please tell me how to get into the System so I can enable the
Proprietary Driver again?

Can you boot to single user mode?

If so you can hopefully re-enable the driver from there. Not sure of the command, but just do the reverse of what you did to disable it.

Some times you can press CTRL ALT and F1 or F2 up to F6 and get into the TTY (terminal)
check the conf files under /etc/X11/

some times it is easy as pressing the reset on your monitor (usually flat screens have it in a menu)
some times it is not your Video Card but wrong model of your Monitor! That happened to me personally.
