Disk Editor

Is there a good disk/hex editor for linux, something similar to Winhex in windows?

I'm getting close to being MS free. Suse on my main machine networked to windows using samba for the children. I'm feeling pretty smug just now. The sense of achievment getting it all to work! I'm even getting pretty fed up with the wizards in windows that think they know how you should set things up...

Just a shame I have to use windows in work.

Any suggestions for an editor anyone?
