disconnection problem
 

hello this is my config

ethernet card: Realtek RTL-8139

Ethernet modem : sagem fast 908

OS : Mandrake 9.2

my problem : it seems that after a few hours my connection stops and can be
restarted only by unpluging my modem

i had updated its firmware so the problem doesn't come from this

i'm sorry for my poor english and stupid question but i m noob ;-)

can somebody help me please ...
i don't want to be obligated to use windows !!!!!!!!!!!!

Look into your /var/log/messages for errors about your modem (there should be something at the point the connection stops, there are timestamps so you'd be able to locate the right area quite easily). The messages may show you what's the problem, but may be also unclear. If after reading them you still don't know what to do with it, post the part of your log file you think is important.
