Question Disappearing Firefox

Okay so far I got an install done, connection to the internet via my lan and dabbled with samba for the home network set up. All found through tutroials pointed out from the site.

My problem is Firefox, I downloaded it and installed it, it pops up and works okay for me - nice browser I like it - trouble is after I shut down and restart its vanished. It isnt on the menu but I have found all the files that were installed. Just not sure how I can either start this program in the command line or how to set it up on the menu at the moment.

Sorry seems a real simple question but I havent managed to find an answer yet, any help appreciated.

MDK 10
Firefox 0.9

I have the same setup...I just dragged the executable icon (can't remember..install.sh?) to the desktop and the task bar and both work fine for me. Not sure why would vanish. Logging on as same user?

I am certainly no pro, I had to run about ten icons before I got one to launch it. I just tried it out and it was firefox 2.7 KB Shell Script. Figure out which one works then try dragging the icon over. Hope that helps, took a long time to figure stuff out but starting to make some sense.

Wish it was that simple Jens I tried that already - I cant find it hence the reason I thought I had disappeared.

Coopns I found that command and ran it - took me a while be eventually logged on as root and ran it and then it seemed to work okay am guessing that maybe my problem. More investigation to do yet I think.

Thanks to all who replied I appreciate it.

Did you download the binary or the source? The binary only needs to be places in a dir and have its exec file started. Not much configuring at all. The source however, is downright hell to install, atleast the ones I've tried with.
