disabling mysqld and httpd

hi gurus and fellow noobs,

i installed slackware 10.2 with mysqld and httpd enabled, i realized that i dont need them so i want to disable these daemons, please teach me how to do it.. thanks...

As root: cd /etc/rc.d; chmod -x rc.mysqld rc.httpd

not sure how much you already know/don't know, but to learn a little bit more about chmod, try "man chmod" at the command line

to learn more about startup scripts in slackware, try
