disable the TAB
 
i am using mandrake 10.0

i need to know that how to dusable and enable the TAB key.

i mean auto complete key.


if i do not want the auto complete key then how to disable that key.

Why is it a problem? Do you really want to have to type filenames like:
SDL-0.1.2.8_i386.rpm
manually every time?!

no sir my aim is some systems in my network are not having the TAB key shortcut.

so to enable the TAB key what should i do?

either should i install any packages or make use some command..


pls how to enable that shortcut TAB key??

Well the tab auto-completion is a feature of the shell you're using. This is often bash though it can be another. Here on the bash site there are what it looks like completion patches, however I'd say a lot of distros should somehow have this.

Under the downloads section is a howto on installing it. I think you can also find how to disable it there :) Probably somewhere in your .bashrc or profile files.
