Disable StartUp Applications
 

Hello All,

I have been using Sabayon 5 64-bit edition , Everything has been going great . Last month I accidentally clicked on "automatically remember running application on logging out" option in startups applications preference box -> options tab.

After which some 5 applications incl. firefox and someothers running then start everytime i boot the computer.

Its annoyance increases day by day as it makes startup slow.

I am new to gentoo-flavour totally , so I could not find a file in which this information(Apps to startup) is written.I checked /etc/runlevels/default after some googling , but cant find anything interesting there , at last gave up

Hence seeking help for the same

In short am looking for the location of the file where Startup Manager stores its information , so i can vi and remove the unnecessary information.

As I remember it, that is not a function of Gentoo/Sabayon. I think that's either a gnome or KDE question (depending on which you are using). And, as a first round, try closing all apps running and clicking on that again, so that it saves a "clean list" of apps. That might work.

The apps in the run levels are only for things which run at system startup. But, once X is started, the run levels have no affect (pretty much).

If saving a blank list doesn't help, you can look in your gnome setup directory ("~/.gnome" or "~/.kde"). It might be there. I use fluxbox with gdm as a login manager, so I don't know for sure where things sit for some other WM's.

"saving a blank list" worked , but still wondering where startup manager stores the information , looked in ~/.gnome and ~/.gnome2 directory , none found there regarding startup manager

Gnome , autostart entries :

Just delete all files in the hidden directory

' /home/"username"/.config/autostart/ '
